Do you know you’d like a more “put together” yard, and you’re even game to do the work yourself, but you don’t know where to start or what to do?
Or, do you have an existing yard that has seen better days, and you’re not sure how to rejuvenate it?
Finally, if you’d like to improve your yard’s hardscape, drainage, irrigation, and/or function, but you need a plan to execute steps in the right order, and to hire the right contractors. I can help with all these.
BEFORE:
Client wanted more color over the season, and didn’t want to depend on putting in annuals.
AFTER:
$60 per hour, plus travel time
I will visit your garden or site to discuss your needs and to make an initial assessment of the space. During this visit, we will discuss the particulars of your yard, I’ll make some initial recommendations, and I’ll estimate the scope of prospective design work.
If we agree to move forward together, I will send along a contract to you and begin design work @ $45/hour.
Initial Consultation
This is a collaborative, responsive process, and includes 1 revision before sign-off to ensure the design is exactly right for you.
We’ll discuss any design, colors, textures, and materials preferences you may have. We’ll discuss how you use the space, or would like to. We’ll consider drainage issues or concerns.
Then, for our review meeting, I’ll show you a design plan, plant list, and materials list. I will also cultivate a Pinterest board for your project.
Design Proposal
My design aesthetic prioritizes organic, sustainable, regenerative, and eco-conscious plans. I start by observing systems that are already working on your site, with an eye toward improving the conditions of water, soil, and air that benefit the flora, fauna, and fungi. You may be inadvertently overspending on maintenance without maximizing your land's potential.
If your design includes hardscaping, I can design it, specify materials and quantities, and project manage contractors to install it. If we go this route, I will provide a separate cost estimate for my time to interface with contractors and provide weekly visits during installation.
If you want to DIY your installation, I can also advise you and/or visit your site during your installation efforts.
